Unraveled Wednesday

A few weeks ago, I unraveled my crafts spaces (yes, I was occupying two bedrooms – empty nest you know) and moved everything into one room. Part of the process included being brutal about tossing things that do not carry joy. It was a good unraveling that uncovered some wonderful possibilities for new projects.

Last year I began a Stopover sweater but did not trust knitting a sweater bottom-up. So it was unraveled and the yarn put away. Last weekend, I was itching to start a new sweater and, having just sorted my yarn, knew I had enough Blue Sky yarn to pick up the pattern again. I am still uncertain about what will happen when I get to the point of joining body and sleeves but I will continue.

I am currently listening to Bill Bryson’s A Walk in the Woods – mostly while walking- and it is very entertaining. It is funny that I have finished 13 books but do not have one single Bingo yet!

Off to visit Kat – Happy Wednesday.

  1. That Stopover is going to be gorgeous – I LOVE your colors!! (and it really is easy to join the sleeves and body https://www.purlsoho.com/create/joining-sleeves-to-body/ the only trick is to be SURE they’re both long enough … because once you join, it’s a real PITN to rip back and add length!) … and it took me 18 books to get one bingo (but #19 gave me 2 đŸ™‚ I did enjoy Walk in the Woods and had NO idea it was a movie!

  2. I love the colors you’re using for your Stopover. I always get nervous about sweaters in pieces or sweaters from the bottom up . . . but it usually works out! I made a Stopover, and you can try it on before adding the sleeves and knitting the yoke. It’s not perfect, but it will give you a pretty good idea of future fit.

Last year, when I was playing Book Bingo, I read and read and read but didn’t get a Bingo for the longest time. Then . . . all of a sudden I had a bunch all at once! XO

  3. Oh, I love this color combination! If you don’t like it when it’s finished I could give it a home! LOL
Where did you get your book bingo card?

  4. Love your Stopover colors. I am planning to knit that sweater this Fall! (And glad for the link from Mary above!!). I enjoy Bryson’s books. I’ve read that one and seen the movie. Good choice to listen to while walking!

  5. We read that book in our book club, and everyone enjoyed it, too. It would be fun to hike in those mts. but only for a day at this point in life. I need to hear more about your craft space organization as I have yarn in too many places also.

    1. I had yarn in two different rooms, paper in one and fabric in the other. Now it’s all in one place. I have a bunch of those cube units with bins for fabric. My yarn is in plastic tubs with locking lids to keep bugs out. My hallway is lined with bags to take to the Goodwill now! I’m having fun learning how to use my new machine and hope to make a pair of linen cropped pants this week. I will need to sew early since it will be hot. Hope you had a good trip Juliann
